I am back with another product review from one of my favorite brands, Mamaearth. I have acne prone combination skin which acts weird during the humid monsoon weather. So I am constantly looking for better hydrating moisturizers for summer and monsoon. When Mamaearth launched a moisturizer for oily acne prone skin, I had to get it.

I have purchased a sample size from Mamaearth's website. They are giving sample sized products for free, you only have to pay the shipping which is Rs.50 and it's quite a steal. Packaging


Well there is nothing much to say about packaging, it comes in a white plastic tube with an outer cardboard packaging. Nothing fancy but travel friendly. The list of ingredients, important dates and stuffs are mentioned in the tube and the outer pack as well.

My Experience


I love Mamaearth products because they are so so gentle yet effective, devoid of harmful chemicals. Now This cream has apple Cider vinegar in it. I love apple cider vinegar for my acne prone skin, effectively removes dirt from clogged pores and makes skin feel smooth. Now coming to this Oil Free Moisturizer, Mamaearth has done their job amazingly. It is a white colored semi-thick cream, not runny at all but spreads and melts into the skin like butter when massaged. It does not take a long time to get absorbed, because of the oil free base of course! Skin feels better, hydrated and plump immediately and I kinda feel a soothing effect on active acne if any. It is like there is nothing on my skin yet there is something soothing and hydrating on my face. Once I apply this cream I forget that I am even wearing a cream. My skin tends to get oily as hell within 2 hours of applying oil free moisturizers in summers and monsoons, but this one has controlled sebum production really well. Mamaearth Oil Free Moisturizer keeps my skin oil free for a good 2-3 hours, after about 3 to 4 hours I do notice some greasiness on the T-zone. It makes skin soft and smooth, makeup sits really well on top of it. Also I have not seen any new zit or pimple coming up since I have started using it, my skin appears radiant and more even toned once I apply it. So I guess it is performing as per the claims. Now coming to the down side, Mamaearth does not use artificial fragrances in their product hence this cream smells like apple cider vinegar mixed with some floral notes. Yes, you heard it, I can legit smell apple cider vinegar when I massage it on my face but it is faint and vanishes within a few seconds of massage, so it should not be bothersome to anyone according to me. All in all this Oil Free Moisturizer is a total stunner, I am absolutely in love with this gorgeous product.

I personally could not find any cons in this product except for the weird smell but that cannot be considered as a con really. I mean yes it does not smell like those fancy creams with loads of artificial fragrances but we don't need perfumes on out skin care products. That is of no good and I prefer my skin care products to be fragrance free.

Do I Recommend?


200% recommended. It is a must try product for oily to combination skin people. Do not worry about the price because a single tube will last you for months. Only a little bit at a time is required to cover the entire face and neck.

Will I Repurchase?


Yes, I guess it's time to replace my staples with this one because Mamaearth Oil Free Moisturizer is my new favorite.
