Packaging
These matte lipsticks from Faces are beautifully packaged in matte black bullets. Very sleek, sturdy and of course travel friendly. The cap is very very tight, so worries of mishaps happening, you can simply through them into the purse and forget about them. Shade names are mentioned in the bottom of the bullet so it is very easy to pick up the shade by looking at it. They also have a gold cardboard outer packaging which bears all the details regarding the product. All in all I love the packaging very much. It is great for the price.
Claims
Faces Canada Claims that these lipsticks “provide matte smooth texture, high color pay-off in a single stroke, lightweight & feels comfortable on lips, medium to full coverage, enriched with almond oil, jojoba oil & Vitamin E for moisturized and soft lips.”
These lipsticks come with a 12M label which means you have to use them completely within 12 months after opening the seal, the shelf life is three years though.
My Review & Swatches
To be honest I feel I am quite late to buy these beautiful lipsticks, they have been in the market for quite some time now. Anyways I finally have two of them. The shades I have are – Subtle Mauve & Brown Ashes.
These lipsticks are 100% matte, there is no shine but they have a beautiful moisturizing formula that glides on to the lips effortlessly. I like it more than my Maybelline Creamy Matte lipsticks. The formula is similar to that but these are more matte than the creamy mattes (both are priced at Rs.299 for 4g).
The staying power is also nice, 4-5 hours if you do not eat anything heavy or oily. They transfer moderately, fade nicely into a beautiful tint. They also settle into the cracks of dry lips but do not enhance them. The bullet feels soft and moist. Overall packaging is cute and very sturdy.
The shades I have chosen are from similar colour family, they have got a mauve undertone to it. These will flatter all undertones from warm to neutral to cool. Subtle Mauve is a perfect mauvy nude for medium to dusky skin tones, while Brown Ashes will be a perfect brown nude shade for deeper skin tones.
This is how the shades look on my medium complexion. For reference I have neutral (beige) undertone.
