Welcome or welcome back to another session of me reviewing acne care product. If you are regular on my blog you must be aware of the fact that I am suffering from hypothyroidism and I break out terribly, specially while PMSing. I was browsing through the amazon.in for acne care products and I came across this Acnease serum from Recast and I immediately jumped and placed the order.
Price & Availability
Recast is not an Indian brand so definitely it is available on amazon, flipkart but haven't seen anywhere in any of the local stores. It is priced at 999 INR for 30 ml but I find it is always on discount, I personally got it for Rs.340 which is a total bargain I know. Get it here.Packaging
The packaging according to me is bomb. A dark glass bottle with pump that comes with a cap, convenient enough to control the amount of serum you wanna use at a time. Despite the glass packaging it is very strong to be carried around in a bag. I have traveled with this one and it has never been an issue but I kept the outer packaging to provide extra support. The outer packaging is nothing fancy, a simple cardboard pack with the name and other details.Claims & Ingredients
Recast has quite huge claims for this serum. They say Acneace serum "reduces the appearance of pimples, blemishes, black and white heads. Reduces excess sebum production & dark spots and uneven skintone. Visible difference right from 1st application."The ingredients' list is petty intense though, it contains "water, taraktogenos kurzi seed oil, nigella setiva seed oil, leptoseprmum scorpium leaf/seed oil, nordihydroguaretic acid, potassium lauryl wheat amino acids, niacinamide, magnoli grandiflora bark extract, PEG-60 almond glycerides, tocopheryl acetate, carbomer, fragrance."
Also it is free from parabens, no artificial colorants, vegan, contains no harmful chemicals, not tested on animals, halal certified, dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic.
Directions/ How To Use
Recast labs has given the following instructions to use this serum,Cleanse skin thoroughly before applying. Cover the affected area with a thin layer and allow it to dry. Best recommended for facial acne. Use twice daily. Store at temperature not above 30℃. Protect from heat and light."
My Experience
I have never had a single acne or pimple on my face before I developed this under-active thyroid condition. I could see two-three new acne everyday on my cheeks. Later I came to know these are cystic acne and let me tell you they were really painful and leave brown spots. This started back in April this year. I was literally desperate to get rid of those painful red cysts but they were just stubborn to go away. On the top of that I was getting two or three new bumps with each passing day. So I used keep searching for good acne clearing products online and suddenly I came across this one on amazon. Well the claims really got into my head and I placed an order the next day. Now, the claim that it will give visible results from the first application was something that did sound questionable me and honestly there was no difference after the first application, but, I used this serum twice a day from day one. The next morning was definitely a happy day for me. The old bumps appeared a little reduced in size and I got only one new acne instead of three. This made my belief even firmer in this product. I started using it religiously, twice daily every single day on a cleansed face. Now coming to the texture of this serum it is an oil based product and does not dry out even after applying a thin layer on the skin. After a few moments it feels sticky to touch, I even wash my hands after applying this because my fingers feel sticky too but it does not feel heavy once absorbed. After five days of constant usage the real difference was visible to everyone. My skin was at it's smoothest and clearest form since I got my first acne. It's been a month since my horrible acne story is over, thankfully. Recast has done an amazing job by creating this. Before Acneace I had no idea how effective a serum can be. Now I use this twice a week or whenever I see any bump coming up. I know that will be taken good care of.Pros
