I am someone who has dry lips all day all seasons so I am constantly searching for my holy grail lip balm that moisturizes and nourishes my lips. Be it online or offline I always look out for a good lip balm. Just a few weeks before I came across with this newly launched product ALANNA LIP BALM on amazon and immediately I ordered the chocolate variant (they have another variant of lemon lip balm) which retails for Rs.200 for 8 grams. I got it for Rs.180 after discount.
 

PACKAGING

The outer packaging is a normal cubic paper box that bears the logo of the brand and other details, ingredients list, claims, direction of use and all other stuffs are written on the sides of the box which makes the cute little box attractive. Also I feel like it makes the outer package look similar to those of a luxury brand. Once I opened the lid I found this tiny little plastic container of lip balm and the rest of the box was empty which did not make sense to me (like they could have made the outer box a bit smaller). The plastic container comes with a golden cap which (seals perfectly so no spillage) has a sticker bearing the brand logo and product name. I found this entire thing very cute but classy.

INGREDIENTS & CLAIMS

 

This lip balm is handmade, 100% natural, cruelty free, sulphate free, paraben free. It contains Beeswax, Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Cocoa Powder, Chocolate extracts. Now all of these ingredients are very very nourishing, moisturizing, hydrating. The label in the packaging reads “This lip balm contains an abundance of nourishing and natural ingredients like shea butter, chocolate extract and cocoa powder, that seal in moisture and help in the treatment of dry, chapped lips”.

MY OPINION

I love love looooveee natural products. The benefits they have to offer is just too amazing to describe. So after reading the description I could not resist buying it. As soon as I received the product I could not wait to apply it on my lips. The moment I opened the sealed cap I fell in love with the colour and the smell of this lip balm. It has that heavenly chocolate smell. The product is pressed firmly in the small round jar so I had to rub my finger quite a few times to get a good amount of product to apply. It glides on smoothly and effortlessly, instantly makes the lips softer. I apply it every night before bed and wake up with soft, nourished, pink lips. My lips have stopped getting dry after using this. No lip balm has ever helped me to heal my lips before. The packaging is also very cute but elegant which I find attractive, also very easy to carry around in a small purse. It is not hassle free though, you have to dip your finger in it every time before application which is the only drawback. A tube packaging would have been more hygienic I guess. I have also applied it before applying liquid lipsticks and guess what!! I did not find any dryness for two long hours. So my fear of using liquid lipsticks has also gone now.
