Do you love using natural ingredients for your skin? Well, the wonders they can do to your skin is not unknown to us. While growing up my mom used to make me some cleansers and ubtan using products from her kitchen. Back then I had no idea what they are called but I loved using them. Since natural skin care has always been a part of my beauty regime let’s make this easy but effective DIY facial ubtan today which I swear by.

INGREDIENTS

The ingredients required for this pack are very common and always available in the kitchen and home
  1. gram flour – 1 tbsp
  2. sandalwood powder – 1 tsp
  3. whole milk – 1 tbsp
  4. turmeric – a pinch
  5. lemon juice – 1/2 tbsp

DIY Ubtan Ingredients
 

Take all the above mentioned products in a glass container. Mix them to get a thick paste. If you feel the paste is too thick for you simply add a few drops of rose water or plain water but do not make it runny by adding too much of liquid.

HOW TO USE

Once you make the ubtan start applying it on your face, neck, arms, back or any darkened area. Spread it evenly and allow it to dry.

Since this ubtan is not too liquidy it is going to take some time to get dry. Well you don’t have to wait till it dries out completely. When you feel it is 80 to 90 % dry start rubbing it with soft massaging strokes. Do this very gently till the entire top layer scrapes off. This steps acts as a scrubbing agent and it exfoliates very gently revealing soft smooth skin.

Now you can clean the application areas with water to wash off the remainings. You will notice the instant brightness and even toned skin that is super soft.

  2. Storing this ubtan is not possible. The milk will turn sour. Though you can mix the dry ingredients and keep them in a jar but using it while travelling is hectic.

This ubtan has only good things to offer to our skin so it is never a waste of time, money, energy. This recipe is an age old ‘nuska’ of our grandmoms.
